TAZ DOUGLAS CAPS COMEBACK WITH STRATCO RACING ENDURANCE DRIVE
TazDouglasTonyRicca16v-medTaz Douglas will cap a remarkable comeback to racing from serious illness when he lines up for Stratco Racing at the V8 Supercar endurance events at Phillip Island and Bathurst.

Douglas has been signed by Kelly Racing to partner West Aussie Tony Ricciardello in the #16 Stratco Holden Commodore at the two long distance events, following a solid endurance event debut last season with Fujitsu V8 Supercars Series team Greg Murphy Racing, who entered the races as a 'wildcard' entry.

This year Douglas will be part of the four-car Kelly Racing operation and the 25-year-old Victorian could not be more excited to be in the same line-up as drivers the caliber of Todd and Rick Kelly, Jason Bargwanna, Glenn Seton and Tony Ricciardello.

Douglas' signing adds to his remarkable comeback to racing this season, following a stint on the sidelines after being diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in January.

Seton will join Bargwanna in the #11 Rock Holden Commodore entry for the L&H 500 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on September 10-12 and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 7-10.

BARGWANNA SCORES SECOND TOP 10 OF SEASON IN TOWNSVILLE
Car11_ft_medRock Racing driver Jason Bargwanna has scored his second top 10 finish of the season in the final race of the Sucrogen Townsville 400 in far north Queensland today.

Bargwanna finally got to turn his strong pace in Townsville this weekend into a good result with 10th place after bad luck cost him early in yesterday's race.

Stratco Racing driver Tony Ricciardello also had a solid day in Townsville, equalling his best finish for the season with a 20th place finish today.

Ricciardello piloted the #16 Stratco Commodore to its third 20th place finish of the season at the 2.86-kilometre circuit, surviving battles with several more experienced drivers along the way.

BARGWANNA FAST BUT UNLUCKY IN TOWNSVILLE
JBargs11e08sun1-medRock Racing driver Jason Bargwanna has suffered from poor luck despite strong car speed in the opening race of the Sucrogen Townsville 400 in far north Queensland today.

Bargwanna qualified in 15th place aboard the #11 Rock Commodore, but contact from behind at the first corner knocked the rear diffuser loose on his car.

Forced to pit to have crew members removed the flailing bodywork, Bargwanna was behind the eight ball right from the start due to the extra pit stop, and with no Safety Car periods during today's race had his work cut out making up the lost ground.

To his credit, Bargwanna never gave up in finishing in 22nd place and was able to show the improved pace of the Rock machine this weekend as the 11th fastest car in today's race in terms of fastest lap time.

BARGWANNA MAKES STRONG START WHILE RICCIARDELLO LEARNS TOWNSVILLE CIRCUIT
Bargwanna_Ricciardello_medJason Bargwanna has made a strong start in practice for the Sucrogen Townsville 400 today aboard the #11 Rock Commodore.

Bargwanna, working on a new set-up direction this weekend, spent most of today's practice sessions in the top 10 on the timesheets.

He was 10th, seventh and sixth fastest in the first three practice sessions of the day but was forced to sit out the majority of the fourth and final session as his gearbox jammed.

Denied the chance to make a final green tyre run in the final stages, Bargwanna fell to 22nd on the overall times, but carries confidence into the weekend.

BARGWANNA FORGES NEW DIRECTION IN TOWNSVILLE
JBargs11e07sat1-medRock Racing driver Jason Bargwanna will forge his own set-up direction at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 in far north Queensland this weekend as the V8 veteran looks to improve his pace.

Bargwanna has worked closely with team-mates Todd and Rick Kelly and Tony Riccardello so far this year, as all four Kelly Racing drivers shared set-up knowledge and data.

That level of cooperation will continue, but for Bargwanna and Race Engineer Stuart McDonald, Townsville will see the #11 Rock Commodore head in a more independent direction on car set-up.

While the driving styles of the Kelly brothers and Bargwanna are similar, Bargwanna will adopt a different set-up this weekend as he aims to tailor his car to more specifically to his own driving style.

BARGWANNA AND RICCIARDELLO PLAY STRATEGY GAME IN DARWIN
TRicci16e07sun1-medKelly Racing drivers Jason Bargwanna and Tony Ricciardello rolled the dice on tyre strategy in the final race of the SKYCITY Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin today.

Both cars fitted their softer 'option' tyres for the middle stint in today's 69-lap race, as teams were given just one set of the faster rubber to run throughout the race.

If a Safety Car had been called during the middle segment of the race it would have seen both the #11 Rock Commodore and the #16 Stratco Commodore greatly benefit, but in a rarity for V8 Supercar racing there was not one Safety Car in either race this weekend.

Bargwanna finished today's race in 21st position, with Ricciardello in 27th position in the Sunday race of the 'Top End' event.
